It's fitting, I suppose, that this is almost certainly my last post on cohost. As y'all have doubtless heard the catastrophic storm Helene hit my city and the surrounding area. The aftermath, especially massive floods and landslides, devastated a lot of the infrastructure in Asheville/WNC and closed off a lot of the major roads. Most of the area is without water, power or reliable phone/internet.

I am safe and well-supplied, as is everyone in the Asheville Blade co-op. Mutual aid works. Planning and preparation works.

Updating during this has proven a challenge but we at the Blade hope to resume doing so soon.

I am absolutely exhausted and would kill for a hot shower. But I am also endlessly thankful for the communities helping our city survive this catastrophe.

i guess its the final night of this site… i apologize for being so inactive and not online here for the past several months… life’s been crazy as of late and i wont get into it but… i will say im beyond heartbroken and bummed out that cohost, my favorite social media site thus far, is shutting down… i dont have a lot of social media that i use outside of this tbh :( i dont know where i’ll go after cohost tbh…. ofc i have ko-fi and art fight which are linked in my bio but i’ll put them here too… i also recently made a cara account just to try it out. i havent posted anything on there yet but im sure eventually i’ll have the itch to post my art online again! i’ll add my discord too ofc, if you follow me, are a mutual of mine or a friend or even if we have just talked in passing! im inviting you to add me in discord or share with me your @ or other socials you have!!! even if i dont share that platform with you…. i still wanna be able to keep up with you guys since yall have made my time here a wonderful and unforgettable experience🧡 i know i should have posted this weeks ago when the site shutdown was first announced… thats my bad… but regardless

The last day of Cohost host feels like the final day of a furry convention. I can’t explain it but the vibes are exactly the same bittersweet to me. The sense of “don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened” and the carrying forward of the memories made and friendships forged or renewed. We’ll see each other down the road, at the next furcon. We’ll find each other again, and it won’t be on cohost itself but we’ll bring the best parts and memories of cohost with us wherever we go.
