###The Cohost Global Feed

As I’m assessing my exit options, I keep remembering things on other sites that remind me of the little things here.

no notifs from shared posts

I’ve talked about this before but still it’s wild how much it makes me value the few numbers there are here. Like, the likelihood of a notification being something relevant to me and meaningful is really high on this site.

bots are opt-in

It’s probably due to both the relative smallness of cohost to other sites, and a concerted effort by staff to keep potentially malicious bot accounts off the site.

Instead, every bot account here has a face. There’s a person behind every one and it shows. They’re not intrusive and don’t try to get you to DM them to buy boner pills. It’s the small things

Don't have a website?

Get started with one of these free options so that your friends and followers can find any of your social media accounts get hacked, banned, deleted, or something else happens. It doesn't have to be fancy. Just something that you can update with your current info and other people can bookmark.

Mmm.page: Really easy drag and drop website platform. No coding required.
Carrd.co: This is a "link in bio" services. No coding requires
Neocities: Small website builder in the spirit of GeoCities. Coding required.

There are other options out there as well. Blogger still exists if you don't mind using a Google service, Github has free basic website hosting if you are willing to program, and Dreamhost has a few paid Wordpress options that isn't associated with Wordpress.com's parent company. There are a bunch of services like Carrd.co and Linktree but I can't verify who is behind them. It is better to have something to start with than nothing at all.

Just spent the last hour building a mmm.page thanks to this post and can confirm it is a great way to build a site for someone who has zero experience programming.

mmm.page/transcribe if anyone wants to check it out :3 thanks for the links!
