I was never one of the Big Chosters here. But that also didn't matter, because I had nothing by which to measure that. I only know it from how often I see familiar faces around, and how my notification counter wasn't blowing up and maxing out constantly.
Even being displaced to other platforms, I still recognize both usernames and pfps from Cohost. I recognize them because that was what interaction was accompanied by. Not a number, a name and a face. I recognize people from here. Even folks I've never interacted with. I never got that way from Twitter. I rarely even get that way on Discord. I know it can happen with mutuals and what not on Tumblr, but I never got into the Fandom Reblogging meta. I'm very much an OP-Posts-OC kinda guy.
It was about the people, here. Everything was. Every part of the design was about the Social, not the Media. That's what we're losing. Not the connections, but the roads on which we walked to make them.
Jeez. Am I becoming a Cohost Philosopher now, in these end days? Ah well.
