did you know the trademark aqua blue of many old glass jars (and insulators) came from the iron-rich sand of the Hoosier Slide, a 200 foot tall sand dune on the shore of Lake Michigan in Indiana? It's gone now. Has been for a very long time. Sand mining for glass making, despite only starting in 1890, had by 1920 removed the entire dune, all 13,500,000 tons of it. Melted down into untold thousands of jars and electrical insulators, in every household and on every utility pole across a nation.

I got this at an estate sale today and aside from the fact it's a very pretty color I'm also thinking about this a lot.

I'm going to send unsolicited emails to the same people who keep sending me unsolicited emails because i gave them my business card at the expo 2 years ago. If they can do it, so can I. Do I expect this will work? No, of course not, but it's better than nothing.

Besides, if they're smart, they'll deal with me instead of APM. I have never seen such convoluted licensing before, and I've been around. It's no wonder firms around here are still using music from 35 years ago if that's what you've got to do to get music for your project. Me? Pay once, use forever. You pay me $2,020 and I send you a CD in the post. Then you use the music. "Then what?" Nothing. That's it.
