honestly i forgot it was a thing until i was browsing tvtropes (I JUST LIKE BROWSING THROUGH IT LIKE WIKIPEDIA) and came across it again. and like. holy fuck i didn't know that A: it was going until 2019(?!) and B: it ended

and all i can say is: wow, it has aged... questionably.
the acting is wooden at best, plot points appear and disappear at the drop of a hat, there's some kind of uncomfortable moments and it has just not held up all that well, especially when compared to stuff like marble hornets.

the main villain (that isn't slenderman, who barely makes any appearances late in the story and doesn't really have much of a bearing on the plot) is what can only be described as "tumblr sexyman bait", a mix of the joker, bill cipher and every snarky villain in a cartoon ever. every scene he's in feels like watching an awkward kid pretend to be the joker and it's kind of embarrassing to watch after a while. he even wears a fedora in multiple scenes... eugh.

I have to hold myself back, if I don't stop myself I'm going to fuck around and story board an animation for a character no one here has seen yet because I can mentally see them singing a certain song like it's a Yakuza Karaoke mini-game. I can feel it coming over me. Consuming me. Send help.

Actually. It's weird we haven't had that as an animation meme. But, then again that would be really high effort if you wanted to get the feeling exact. You have to find a song that's not only 2 minutes (or could be cut down to two minutes) it ALSO has to swell at around 1 minute in, maybe a little later, maybe a little before. Then you have to draw your own scene direction and... yeah no that makes sense that's not weird at all!
