This little animation was made to show off one of the unusual features of my new font. In addition to the usual letters, numbers, and special characters, This font includes a 5 small sized words; And - Of - The - an - a - by - from. I've used a+ by + the to make this phrase.
I included these words to better capture the style of turn of the century handwritten lettering, when it was standard to write less important words smaller. I picked the words by surveying vintage magazine covers, to see which words were commonly miniaturized

Wondering if opening a donation drive to help me cover the cost of shipping items that need to be preserved to the people who could handle it would be good or not.
I have literally a couple dozen books and magazines I've wanted to have scanned and preserved for about two years - and several dozen pieces of game hardware I want to send to a dumper so he can get their contents documented and dumped. (I've said this before but anything I purchase for preservation is on my dime, I haven't had to ask people for financial assistance to buy something - the only thing I need help with is getting the items to people.)
However... I feel iffy about asking for money, especially these days, when folks rechost people asking for help with more important things, like you know... food/shelter/medication.
I dunno. Am I overthinking this?
youd think nanowrimo, the challenge of writing 50,000 words over 30 days, would be the main ones against the "spit out words immediately" machines
genuinely what is the point of the "im going to use this entire month to lovingly craft a novel, so that when it ends i can look back on it with pride that i managed to overcome the task to do it with purely my own hands and imagination" contest if the people behind it are going to support the algorithm with 0 craftmanship in it because of "classism and ableism", despite the many MANY disabled and poor authors who have managed before lol
