Wondering if opening a donation drive to help me cover the cost of shipping items that need to be preserved to the people who could handle it would be good or not.
I have literally a couple dozen books and magazines I've wanted to have scanned and preserved for about two years - and several dozen pieces of game hardware I want to send to a dumper so he can get their contents documented and dumped. (I've said this before but anything I purchase for preservation is on my dime, I haven't had to ask people for financial assistance to buy something - the only thing I need help with is getting the items to people.)
However... I feel iffy about asking for money, especially these days, when folks rechost people asking for help with more important things, like you know... food/shelter/medication.
I dunno. Am I overthinking this?
