It's crazy how much the fuse system improves the game and makes all the different elements so cohesive compared to Breath of the Wild.
Monster parts used to be practically useless and flooded your inventory, now you're encouraged to burn through them to boost your attack, and collecting them feels genuinely rewarding.
Weapon durability is still a core part of the combat balance, but it's no longer as frustrating since now when a weapon breaks I'm rarely thinking "aww my good sword" but instead "oh now I have room to make a better one".
Shields now can be modified to fit different play styles, no longer do you have one decent shield and one surfing shield but instead a variety of different applications and builds to swap between.
Arrows were a nuisance in BoTW, it always felt like I was running out despite having a massive stockpile of elemental arrows (which I didn't use on most enemies because you don't wanna waste them). Now you find arrows everywhere, and simply stick whatever you need at the moment on top. Feels far less wasteful while accomplishing the same thing.
The game itself isn't perfect, with the UI for fusing arrows in particular being absolutely terrible, but damn if this system isn't brilliantly designed.
