• someone on the steam discussion forums* is asking about Moonman Doom, a mod that features 4chan loser fascist mascot moonman (a character ripped from the old mac tonight commercials, but now he says slurs! because fascists can't make art) killing minorities. someone in the thread says "it was better when internet was too complicated for non-whites, degenerates and women"

• another post on the forums asking people not to upload stolen WADs has been given multiple "clown" awards and is currently full of people saying Plagiarism Is Good, Actually.

• both the AOL girls museum level and the swastika mod are still up, even after I reported them. they are somewhat popular too, with the aol level having over 50 likes (which, for this port, is decent) so the "just report it" system doesn't work. at all.

• there's still a constant deluge of stolen stuff. someone uploaded john romero's "one humanity" level, which is a purchase-only level where all proceeds go to charity.

• myhouse.wad has been uploaded again.

*which, as is usual for steam discussion forums, a hellscape full of screaming and arguing over tiny details. there are at least 5 arguments over vertical aim.

• it appears the AOL girls mod was removed but the doomer forums mod still remains

• doomworld is currently in chaos. 2 prominent members (kinsie/thekins and kralab) were banned for a year(?) due to an argument over the new mapping format spiraling out of control

• there's reports of covid being spread at quakecon, so that's a problem

• The AOL girls mod was, in fact, NOT taken down and is still very easy to access just by scrolling through the most subscribed mods. One of the preview images contains boobs. Strangely, Bethesda previously banned a map pack called Kama Sutra because the title picture contained an illustration from the titular book.

• Someone has reposted a map by Eric Harris, one of the columbine killers, with a meme of Donald Trump as the thumbnail. EDIT: This one has been taken down.

• Thatcher's Techbase, a mod about killing a demonized Margaret Thatcher has been taken down due to "Real World Politics." It should be noted that no part of the reporting system contains an option for "real world politics." A second version of Thatcher's Techbase, designed for arcade use, is still available. • Most of the arguing over the new mapping format seems to have calmed down, but the bans still linger on as both of the banned members were responsible for popular mods and a popular source port respectively. As far as I can tell, the consensus on the new mapping format is "Probably Not Going To Be Popular"

• The Steam forums are still a festering cesspit. There have been at least 7 threads complaining about the lack of vertical mouselook. Vertical mouselook was never in the original game. One person claimed vertical aiming was "an accessibility feature" before making a thread trashing actual accessibility features (clearer fonts, text-to-speech, turning off flashing) as "woke garbage"

• Currently, it seems the only way to submit any kind of bug report is to post on a Doomworld thread that a guy who works at Nightdive reads. He's also a bit of an abrasive asshole.

• MyHouse.wad has been reuploaded multiple times. Again.

TL;DR: Bethesda is fine with a level filled with real-world porn, but not a single picture of drawn porn. They also don't like the idea of a mod parodying a real-world politician that was already constantly parodied when she was in power.
