Well this has been one of the naps of all time to wake up from. I'm gonna be honest, I have mixed opinions on this site shutting down. On one hand it has allowed me to meet some really cool people, talk to some interesting creatures, and has overall been a fun place to hang out without overwhelming me.
On the other hand, this place was rife with controversy all the fucking time. From yinglets not tagging their posts, to racism in a mostly white community, to orientalism appropriation, to people being told to kill themselves because they don't want to see other people told to do the same. These are unequivocally awful, terrible things and I won't let them go just because the staff failed. It's a part of the history of this site and I won't have it ignored. I don't give free passes for this shit.
Still though, my personal feelings on this site are mixed even beyond the controversy. I've never felt like I fully belonged here. I never felt queer enough, or technical enough, or artistic enough to get people to just interact with me. I felt like an outsider since day one, but the few moments where I didn't? Gods was it fun. I can say that my time here has mostly been positive and I'm glad I joined the site all that time ago.
To my followers, I'll be posting ways to find me soon, but the easiest way to do so would probably be my discord (@brisken), or showing up in one of my twitch streams (Truebrisken on twitch). I don't have a publicly available server or anything (unless you count DOOMvegas), but if you need someone to talk to, casually or seriously, that's gonna be the quickest way to get ahold of me. To everyone else, blocked or not, I truly wish you all happiness and success wherever you end up. You'll find your place, your people, your home, one day. I'm sure of it. Maybe I'll be there, maybe I won't, but no matter what I'll be there looking, just like you.
