What happens when we lose our medium?
When our thoughts can only be shouted into an empty void,
When we lose the connection to the ones we love,
When the only thing we can hope for is to find another can on a string and pray that we reconnect once more.
Have you ever moved houses before?
I know I have, several times.
Each time it gets less and less frightening, and discomfort becomes the new comfort,
Until you finally settle in, and the cycle begins anew. An ouroboros of fear and friends, of the tiptoe forward and the first-time chitchat.
What about playing a new game? Or making a new friend? Or rebranding your online persona?
I'm sure you've done one of those before; Tell me, were you curious? Worried? Melancholic?
Or was it simply a part of life? The death of one brings the birth of another?
Have you done this enough times to the point where samsara itself is a samsara for your life?
I know it will be hard, I know it will be scary.
But it's going to be different. And it's going to be okay.
Free yourself and the world will follow¹.
