Maybe it's a little silly for a final post, but I recently played through Dark Souls II and really vibed with the game's themes about persistence and trying to find your way in life.

Transcript There is no path.

Beyond the scope of light,

beyond the reach of Dark...

...what could possibly await us?

And yet, we seek it, insatiably...

Such is our fate.

Anyways, I loved hearing from all the critters and creatures telling me how much they enjoyed my work. I still have several messages left in my inbox, but they're all of that variety and I feel a bit weird about publicly framing their praise. Even though I've always been a bit shy and non-interactive on here, I really appreciate every bit of interaction I received, even the ones that were just "oohhhh goosshhh this is really good! <3"

While in the kitchen I found what appears to be a chunk of steak on one of our counters. Now this is strange for the reason that neither of us, me and my partner, haven't had steak in some time.

There’s a few possibilities here:

  • the dog brought it in from outside. She’s found food before, out in the yard. One night tried to slink by me with a chunk of a baguette in her mouth. We refer to this now as Night Bread. I don’t think this is night steak. She would have just eaten it, and also likely didn’t huck the steak up on the counter.
  • one of the neighborhood cats brought it by. I do not know which one though, they don’t even come by and they’d not want to be around the dog
  • lastly, and the worst option, a squirrel got in and dropped it, and might still be in the house. Maybe we scared it out the dog door before we noticed. Please don’t be in the house.
