We're starting the run-up to it, so I wanted to mention that a new game, GALACTIC FOODTRUCK SIMULATOR 2999, will be releasing on the 28th (that's Thursday) [edit: at 1PM EST or @792 metric]

Galactic Foodtruck Simulator 2999 is an upcoming food truck simulator game created in Weave, a fork of ZZT allowing more kinds of games to be made via its enhanced scripting and other features. I helped out with the food icons in the game and drew the tiny portraits you'll see in various parts of the game, including when recruiting for your food truck and when reading reviews of your food truck. It's my hope that the experience of doing both will be quite flavorful!

So I've been (re)teaching myself to draw lately, and I've not produced anything I feel comfortable sharing just yet, but I've made an interesting discovery in the process of going back to The Very Beginning and starting over from scratch:

My fundamentals are pretty solid. Basic shapes I have down more or less pat, I can draw primitive three-dimensional objects, single-point and dual-point perspective pretty well... but only when that's the stated goal.

But if the goal is to produce something more complex, my ADHD brain wants to skip ahead to drawing the final product, no matter what, which is... frustrating, to say the least. I know consciously I have to pace myself, but subconsciously I'm chewing the cage-bars waiting to put all the little greebly stuff in.

Tutorial's trying to teach me how to block out an irregularly-shaped three-dimensional solid, meanwhile my brain's screaming "NO. FINAL DRAFT NOW!"

Grr.
