This is for my grandma. The wet on wet around it is inspired by another Seth who does beautiful pet portraits (and whom I admire for a multitude of reasons; a Good Seth); it was scary and I was afraid I was gonna ruin it but it turned out good (and subtler than I thought--this paint is way darker when wet!!)

I have penciled a 5x7 around it; I think I'll cut it a half inch around that maybe

The entire theme of this image was "One layer, no rules, just paint."
