I am still entertained by how my blocked out roughs compare to my finished pictures. I'm not entirely sure why but I find this kind of colour blocked rough so much easier to actually finish than a standard sketch. The lineart sections in the face and hands were done after most of the rendering.

Just a sketch so far but I'm liking how its coming along (I actually used references for once).
I decided that they are team mates rather than rivals.
The overall idea is that they are Racers of some kind but I'm still working out the details.
