You ever have a really good idea for a scene, but you just can't figure out where to go after that scene ends? That's what I have been dealing with when trying to write out the first few chapters of Powertrip. I've got the beginning up to a certain point pretty much figured out, but the irony is once I have the protagonist free of the binding circumstances at the beginning of the story I have no idea where to send them next.
On one hand I wonder if I should just scrap what I have and start anew once more, but on the other hand I do really like what I've got so far. My current prologue definitely gets the tone of the story that I am looking for, but not scrapping anything just puts me back in the same spot.
A rock and a hard place, which is a very topical analogy when your main character is a geologist.
