How did y'all obtain your apprenticeships? :') Tattooing is something I've wanted to do for YEARS but the specifics of apprenticeships is baffling and a little daunting.
I understand it can be a wildly different experience across shops and geographic areas so there's not really a "one size fits all" approach, but I'd GREATLY appreciate if anyone who is currently apprenticing or has completed an apprenticeship is open to discussing it and letting me pick your brain c:
I'd love to know, too, from the full-time artist side, what sorta stuff you'd look for in a potential apprentice (e.g. portfolio, style, time commitment, etc)

I work a full-time day job and intend to keep it as long as I can bc I enjoy it and it has great benefits, but since recovering (at least mostly) from creative burnout I'm eager to look into pursuing tattooing as well. I understand why some folks wouldn't be interested in a part-time apprentice, but it's something I'm passionate about and want to be able to do and enjoy without the added stress of it being my sole source of income and I'd love to connect w folks who understand that perspective and approach✌🏻
