I haven't mentioned this because I was 75% sure I wouldn't be able to figure it out, but I've been slowly working on a solo submission to My First Game Jam! I'm primarily a 2D artist/designer, so this is my first time programming — and I have a bare-bones prototype working as of today! 🥳

I've tried using Godot and Defold before but I ended up using Gamemaker Studio: 2 for this. I hate the subscription model, but being able to use a mix of visual scripting and line-by-line code is a lot less overwhelming for me since there are preexisting blocks to build off of. I've generally been starting out each new programming task by laying out the base logic with visual/block coding, and then adding on more complex features with line-by-line GML.

I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to finish this by the jam deadline, just because of how time-consuming the programming side of things is, but I'm glad I was able to get this far at least 😊
