Four villain characters with horns and unnaturally long, sharp fingers. Six civilian characters, dressed up in various hero outfits in different styles. An in-game screenshot showing one of the villain character portraits with a smug expression on her face. She is shown to be saying 'No. Let me explain. This is a Magical Fun Token. It's worth 90 Trillion Dollars.' in a text box.

In 2019, I was contacted by Steve O'Gorman, a solo indie dev, and asked if I'd like to provide character artwork for an upcoming project of his. He'd previously commissioned me for a small piece of key art for his first project Rainsdowne Players, and after accepting the job I spent the next couple of years helping to provide art for his games Hero Hours Contract and Hero Hours Contract 2.

The work was very hands-off, Steve would send me the basic 8-bit sprite he'd made and some short descriptions for each character, and I had free reign to adapt the design however I wanted, with no restrictions on formatting or anything. It was a ton of fun, and while some portraits look a bit dated at this point and there are things I would change if I started over and redrew all these characters from scratch, (I'm so sorry about some of the color choices) I'm very happy with the projects and thankful to Steve for giving me the opportunity.

HHC and HHC2 are short and fun games that I very biasedly recommend. :) They're on PC and Switch and Steve prices them dirt cheap. The gameplay is really addictive simplified turn-based strategy, and I think the writing is fun. DDRKirby's soundtrack is amazing too!
