On vacation so I'll be posting some sketches I've been doing. I usually use a lot of reference in my process but it's been nice to just make shapes and see where things go.

Been thinking about color & perception. I think the most important color mixing happens in the eyeballs of the viewer as they are looking (as opposed to being blended smoothly by the artist). A color appearing vibrant has everything to do with the relative hue and value of adjacent color areas. I've been combining earth and neon palletes for a vibration effect. Sargent's palletes were basically day-old coffee and his colors are the juiciest in the business.

Having some wrote understanding of color relationships or models can be helpful. Seems like every artist has their own color Time Cube but I just think in terms of temperature. Hues can be tinted warmer or cooler. Warms and cools are complimentary and always play nicely together so when in doubt add more tint in either direction.

Shadows are always cooler, but you can have cool orange shadows and warm blue highlights.

Interfacing (Aipom)

Good creatures always have stupid fingers, obedient digits that learn not to pry beneath locks and passwords. Unfortunately for them, your fingers graduated with a show of hands, and now every door is a new thesis to prove. No one is truly safe when your class is in session, and you'll never reach tenure until they finally catch you.
