As of twenty minutes in, I'd say the songs all slap pretty well, but I don't quite have the patience for a full album of it when I'm not actually dancing at a club. If I weren't writing this post the whole time, I probably would have closed the video before getting 4 minutes in.
I'm generally a pretty big fan of EDM and musical experimentation. But what I find is that listening to Dariacore 1 as I write this is that I am comparing all the songs to "National Geographic Theme (acoustic annihilation mix)", which I have heard exactly once and got its hooks into me so hard that I've tried several times over 20 years to find it again, whereas these songs are all... I'm enjoying them as I'm listening to them, but once I'm done, I'll probably never think about any of them again after I hit post on this?
I'm frequently noticing myself wishing that these songs had longer attention spans -- often they're just starting to do something really interesting when they completely shift gears without warning.
I also wish that the "daria" part of dariacore was more relevant to the actual content, and less... asks google about dariacore a joke descriptor that got stuck because nobody had any better terms for it.
