I made this chart a few years ago to explain the various possible outlooks people in the US tend to have about foreign policy. I'm still inordinately proud of it, and I also think it's one of the only cases where "horseshoe theory" kinda applies. Image description after the break.

A lot of people talk about "Hey we should go back to personal homepages!" Sure, great, you should add some kind of RSS feed so people know when it updates and whats new, because people aren't gonna be fucked enough to care to check it everyday to see if you actually updated the pages or not
In the last six months with a bunch of the big 5 websites having their meltdowns I have frequently heard the rallying cry of "Bring back forums!" These are mostly from people who have a rosy viewpoint of Pre 2008 Internet and I hate to break this to them: it's probable we can never go back.
