TURN A. GUNDAM!

he arrived and i built him and i love him so much

my very first master grade!!!! but he wasnt intimidating to build at all. since the turn a is a basic main robot without that much extra flair, it didnt feel that much different from the HGs ive built, just bigger and handsomer. it went quick and easy! the only assembly bit i really struggled with was the articulated hands! 😵 slotting in the three connected fingers to just sit in the half hand, next to the index finger also fitted pretty loosely and a snapped in thumb, then snapping on the other half of the hand... it took so many tries without the loose triplet fingers falling out. but i got them eventually!!

i was very lucky and this was a very beginner-friendly master grade with only three regular stickers and one mandatory rub-on decal.... however.... i did spectacularly fail at applying the rub-on. i really struggled with the fact that the spots for the decals are indented, and i just couldnt find an angle of rubbing that got all of the V, the dot and the underline into the indents and rubbed stuck. i ended up wasting both of the decals on the sheet. in hindsight, maybe i shouldve cut the pattern up and rubbed on each part of the symbol separately? 😞 i had a regular green marker pen lying around that i tried just using to fill in the indent, but it didnt really stick and just smudged loose even more bits of the decal LOL. its okay, im not that upset about it and this thing is just for me to display and admire, so ill live with him having a bit of a wonky forehead. i might try looking for a different marker thatll stick to fix it at some point!

love this man, so happy with him. in assembly i just started admiring so much about this design, the sleek legs, the butterfly-esque pattern on the back plates that id never really looked at before. hes so good. hes so cool. I HAVENT PAINTED THE COW OR LORAN YET i will do that eventually and put the cow on him somewhere but i am lazy right now. i keep just looking over at my display case and seeing turn a and going "yes!!!!!! i love him!!!"

next up, i am weak and i am getting schwarzette and calibarn ASAP.... however... i have plans to paint calibarn >:3 because ive lowkey been wanting to do a paintjob and calibarn being majority white is a perfect test subject.... i will report back on my continued failures lol
