Here we go, as i squeak time to promote my big 2022 project here! Earlier this year, I did a written interview with the scenario writer behind the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, after a nine year quest to thank him inspired by the events of Gates to Infinity’s shocking ending.
This video covers a ton: my exposure to PMD, the nine year quest from GTI to the present before I finally could thank the man who saved me as a post-adoption, new to the world child that was going through a lot. It also touches heavily on PMD1’s programmer, Masayasu Yamamoto, thanks to a statement he provided during the interview!
Definitely hoping this makes the rounds; so please share, comment and lemme know what PMD means to you! I’m so proud of this and for meeting a wonderful man.
The video is bombing badly considering the effort I put into it/what my unboxings usually get in views. So I'm pushing again. Aggro. Please watch if you're a PMD fan!
I spent half of 2022 crunching on this. Full time job morning, evening working on this over many many months. Youtube has shadowbanned or search suppressed it somehow and getting it to 1K views may break it out of that: I just want feedback and for my life and sleepless nights last year to not be a waste
I edited the tags on the YT video itself to see if that helps it break Youtube's suppression. Read some tag tips so hopefully it works... So far most traffic is from Twitter (Which, RIP, but I did set an auto tweet to go out every monday in may to share the video as I break from the site), followed by Reddit (Where I can't self promote it much) and then Youtube. It seems to be recommended occasionally, but not many actually watch the video... Do I say something bad in the first three minutes to make people click away?
views have stalled as YT's suppression of the video continues
seeing someone's amateur PMD video rack up 80K+ views in seven hours while this has rotted away and failed to get seen just riles me up more.
I WILL fight back to have my story told.
this seems like an unacceptably annoying amount of high-pitched buzz/whine.. like, way more than I remember these things having?
anyways, i am not ever going to try and repair this myself, though i am curious to hear thoughts on whether it's worth trying to find and pay a pro to do so
a cleaning day. the recently adopted Panasonic BT-D1910Y finally has a home: shoved beneath the HDTV. the CRT is (hopefully, waiting on an adapter) going to be a great way to watch old anime and other 4:3 stuff via an Extron VSC-500 scan-converting the PC's 1080p HDMI to 480i s-video.
i know it looks goofy and very r/tvtoohigh but my space limits options and i don't care too much about the circa-2014 flatscreen, which i've barely used in the past year. same with the modern consoles. i've only been playing retro and PC. if i ever get a modern OLED or something maybe it'll be time to reassess but for now... let's watch some VHS, LaserDisc, DVD shit.
