i lift myself from my spot upon this couch to a cascade of creaking cracks, as of a falling tree

i open my fell mouth and bellow the forgotten wisdom from my youth:

it is bed time

In Japan they have a dish of long sliced pork belly that’s been cured and they fry it and serve it with an egg, they call it ベーコンエッグ and I think that’s so beautiful
