Anyway, here are my favorite Final Fantasy ladies from my favorite FF games: Six, Seven, DS Remake Three, Nine, and X2.
I loved the pretty girls dress-up game. Don't judge.
I drew the original pen & paper version of this back in 2009 after buying one of those Deleter art supply boxes that came with B5 paper, inks, screentones, pens and some G-nibs at the local stationery store after I arrived in Japan.
I admit that I went a bit crazy on buying screentone when I was in Japan. That shit was like buying a yacht back in the 90s and completely out of my reach. Here I was over a decade later confronted with a literal wall filled with the stuff. Each cheaper than a good cup of coffee and I had a lot of pocket money. This was at the beginning of digital software like Clip Studio moving in and replacing the need to buy the stuff since it was now just a click away. But it was still early days and the tech was just developing so I didn't know that yet.
And not to dis Japan as things might have gotten better in recent years. But when I was living there the place was still so 90s it hurt. Fax machines? C'mon! Email exists people.
I tried to make a couple of comics while living in Japan, because, well, duh. While the gear was ready my storytelling was still dying from the disappointment of trying to put out webcomics in the early Aughts. I just couldn't write a decent story to save my life and my ideas got scrapped.
Maybe I still can't tell a story. Fact is I'm now an old man with cascading health problems and I might have two decades left on this planet at best. I'm gonna start posting up a comic this fall even if it does turn out to be lame because it ain't going to happen later on.
The image above was a GIMP drawing of the original I tried a year later after buying my dearly departed Bamboo tablet. The results weren't satisfying but that's not what GIMP was built for.
ETA: I have since learned to use PNG format instead of JPG for my drawings because... well... look at it.
