had a customer earlier who prepaid for gas and pressed $20 for cashback, so I hand her the money; cue "oh, I didn't mean to hit $20, I don't want it!" and she leaves to deal with the gas without taking the money, even though her card definitely got charged for it.

so what the hell do I do with this $20 sitting on my till then? I don't want to keep it, because it's not mine, but I can't put it back because it'll screw over the totals later.

As we all know, nobody knows what they're doing when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. Roll on a table to find out whether your trained fighter went for a riposte or a thrust.

Boxing? You'll be at the edge of your seat as you roll to see whether your delivered a haymaker or a right hook.

After all, melee is an unknowable field and it's pure folly to believe that you can read an opponent or react to what they're doing.

As Mohammad Ali famously said, "shit, I dunno man, I punch and hope for the best".

me and a friend dove further into the obvious clickfarm ad-junk procedurally generated hellscape that is the SLO Wine blog and fell in love. there is so much total junk, so much basic failure at keeping on a single topic or even talking about wine much less in the context of wine-as-beverage-from-winery that it is incredibly endearing. to me it is hard not to personify Rosamie, the pen name of the blog's presumably perpetually-beleagured text generation program without any capability of thought trying to make us think she's people but is also a little silly and a little stupid. something strangely relatable about how transparently nonsense her articles are, and how unfocused they tend to be. i want to channel that kind of silly girl energy, in my heart

i recently (today) found a habit / to-do list app that was alright but i didn't meet my to-do needs (i already have a lot of lists) the thing is that it had a countdown in the corner until the end of the day. i think that's really cool and would be useful to me but i'm not going to use the app. do you know if there's another app / widget / website / extension that has this feature?

suppose there's not, would it be hard for me to create something like that? not to brag but one time i (my parent) made (coded) a clock.
