i always thought itch.io existing the way it does was kind of a miracle. like there's very few places on the web that are run by people who'll go to bat for adult creators, especially not ones that are actually mainstream enough to be a viable source of revenue. i was hooting and hollering during the whole "unspeakable games" saga because it was just so incredible to see anyone standing up for adult art during a time when the web is becoming increasingly hostile to NSFW creators.
even if the email itch.io has been sending is just for a few creators and won't apply to NSFW games as a whole, The Vibe has shifted. i really hope that in the coming days they communicate this better and clarify what the actual intent is, because like, what the hell man.
to be clear i don't make porn games, but adult creators are the thin white line between the weird edgy queer shit i like to make and play and the internet's increasing hostility towards anything too gay and weird. i hope itch.io clarifies this shit soon but tbh i'm too tired and jaded by content platforms to expect anything good anymore
Anyway, please enjoy another edition of 'One subject, three lenses'

Oh, so the itch.io official line is that Actually, you filthy queers were always banned, and the techbro Steam clone passive income side hustle is so tired of being taken advantage of by broke queers, the Real Victim Here uwu
