cw: Flashing Lights

i finally got my hands on a glitch processor (a T-420 Micro from Lofi-Future), and i've been listening to a lot of the Mountain Goats recently. a match made in heaven.

That old building by the lake? Ah, that thing that looks too ornate for a cottage but far too small for a communal-style mansion?

That's the home of an old witch.

She's a hero. Fought with our ancestors. You know, in the Great War. Though, I'm unsure what exactly she did.

Is she dangerous? Ah no. She's more introverted- Or maybe quirky is the right word.

We keep the rest of lake mostly underdeveloped to give her some distance. Not that she minds visitors to the area.

She does come to town from time to time, although never with the same face. I'm sure you've seen her- a person unusual air about them, usually a woman.

Once you learn her habits, she's easier to pick out. And if she takes a liking to you, she might even be open to a chat.

Yeah, yeah- there's a lot of rumors about her. Of chants and summonings and seances. And I think the one about her whisking away women from time to time is even true.

But I see her as a sort of town mascot. I mean, she's always been here to me- And will probably outlast me too.
