Cohost users. Cohost users I am begging you to tag or put cws for unreality. I don’t care if it ruins the joke, because psychotic people will be harmed by the joke if they cannot tell if it’s a joke or not. And no, the fact it’s a joke is not obvious to everyone.

Árstíðir lífsins - Aldrlok

There’s no way my review will do justice to Aldrlok. 80+ minutes of epic pagan black metal that incorporates classical Icelandic folk music and Skaldic poetry, Árstíðir lífsins have outdone themselves with this album. Seriously, go listen to it. Highly recommended.

Gorgon Vomit - Skeng Down Jah

Blackened death metal from the U.K., Skeng Down Jah is a pummeling onslaught of blasphemy. An interesting side note: Gorgon Vomit is the first metal band I’ve encountered with lyrics in the Jamaican patois. If you like bestial metal, you’ll want to check out this album.

Oerheks - Heksen & Geesten van Brabant

Black metal that’s simultaneously raw and atmospheric can be difficult to achieve, but Oerheks does it quite successfully. There are only two tracks on Heksen & Geesten van Brabant, but they both clock in at over 9 minutes. I can’t wait to hear a full length album from this project.

Swelling Repulsion - Fatally Misguided

Playing tech death with progressive elements, Swelling Repulsion have created an interesting sound on Fatally Misguided. There’s no shortage of aggression and technicality, but the tracks also contain melodic and groovy segments. If you’re into death metal, snag this album.

Vomquisseron - Black Infernal Divinity

A side project of Nachzehrer, Vomquisseron plays black metal that gravitates toward the raw side of the genre. Black Infernal Divinity is a solid E.P., but it may not do much for you if you’re not into black metal. Your loss.

Zvilpogghua - Temple Of The Maimed Sphinx

Psychedelic deathgrind with a jaw harp? That seems absolutely ludicrous, but Zvilpogghua manages to pull it off. Temple Of The Maimed Sphinx is all sorts of weird, interesting, and heavy. If you’ve been looking for some unusual metal, this is it.
