This has been a weird one. A lot of what I've been playing lately has been "being tired as hell". I also spent an entire week just drawing that was frankly amazing and I want to recapture that even if it means these posts end up a lot shorter. Nonetheless, let's get on to the games!

  • Melvor Idle: Still at it! Still enjoying it! I ended up starting an alt so I can multitask a little. My main is cleaning up the Atlas of Discovery content (consensus: fun but kind of overloaded) and I'm probably going to work on lv 120ing all the base game skills next. Game's real good.
  • Pangya Reborn: For some reason I decided to try and get into a custom server of the golf KMMO. I have a lot of nostalgia for these sorts of things but i'm slightly stymied by the fact that the server population is so low. I'll work up the confidence to play against randos eventually! ...maybe!
  • Dungeons of Hinterberg: Picked this up on release. Enjoying it a bunch! Trying to let it get me into the summer vacation vibes because I really need a vacation badly. Even if this ends up JUST being a charming, light rpg I think I'll remember it very fondly for doing that well and distinctively. Good shit imo.
  • Panzer Dragoon Saga: man what the fuck this game is incredibly good?? What the hell???? wha????
  • Final Fantasy 14 On Line: This is a weird one for me. Dawntrail is the first '14 expansion I've fallen off in the middle of. Not for lack of enjoying the story! But I think I may be in the wrong mood for More of This Particular MMO right now. idk. I'll get back to it eventually.
  • Sakuna: Still one of my fav games ever! Still fucking great! The only reason I don't play more of the new file I started is that I've been too lazy to move to my couch to play on the switch.
  • Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom: Maybe one of the most creative platformers I've played in ages? Really good design and aesthetics? huh! wow.
  • Horticular: Melts my brain but very fun. This is exactly the kind of sim I want more of. Detailed, interesting, feels full of self-direction and variety.
  • Cursed Treasure 2: For some reason I decided it's tower defense time. This old flash game is still fun and still kind of frustrating. That'd TDs baby! Maybe i'm gonna go on a flashpoint rampage one of these days.
  • Creeper World 3 and 4: I finally worked up the effort to finish CW3. It was fun! Maybe the best game in the series. Started 4. It's solid! It's kinda more of the same! I like these games a LOT - the idea of a TD where liquid sim is your enemy is SO great - but they're maybe best in... moderation....
  • Elden Ring: I started it again and fell off it again. Yay! (I do not own the DLC. I will probably never own the DLC.)

When I last played the demo I was really impressed by this game's detailed biome-creation systems where you have to build out specific kinds of habitats for creatures - but with limited space, and they can overlap, which means all sorts of complex and interesting rearrangement. Honestly what I wish terra nil had gone for with its design! Excited to try the full version.

I love the microgenre of city builders where the things you're putting down interact with their environment and overlap in interesting ways, so I picked this up and promptly lost six hours. Recommended.
