#J-body

Welcome to JUNKYARD CRAWLIN, my informal and shorter form series of posts to talk about stuff I find at the junkyard

Oh, the Pontiac Sunfire. What An Car you were. Pontiac produced a few of these absolute blip cars towards the end of it's life, and this Sunfire, a 2003 part of the final-two-year facelift, is certainly one of them. Cars like these are sometimes my favorite of junkyard runs, just due to how they absolutely vanish from public consciousness. Almost rarer than the well known classics or rarities- those are at least still on the road, waiting to be crashed or to eat engine components. But a pre-recession nothing J-body? K-cars, of their day (though I've found a few of those as well). I'm also a giant sucker for a bumper with an engraved name, and overall I'm a fan of the weird sharp rear end design.

This car seems to have lived in the local area of Sebastian-Vero Beach for most of it's life, though a VIN history pulls an anomalous and possibly false registration in Tennessee from 2016 to 2022. Snowbird car registered in their home state, maybe?
