#Media Club Plus
In today's episode of Media Club Plus (S1E8) you went on the record as a Clap Disrespector (no shade), this interests me greatly. My brain is an abyss full of goo, and of the many things trapped in this jello salad is thoughts about clapping on podcasts so I'd like to add your thoughts into the mix here. I assume, claps just aren't as useful as they seem, but for which reason?
i have a mixer which records a local backup of discord as its own track and my voice as its own track, and i use it every episode of Media Club Plus to align things to. there's usually a ~.5 second drift on a file as long as our recording sessions so line everything up at the start then time stretch everything at the end to to fit properly. the claps are useful for that initial lining up but because i introduced time.is claps to Friends at the Table (imported from Run Button) i just think its funny to abandon the claps since it stresses everybody out. Without a clap i just find other peaks from people talking to line things up. Ali is right that if I lost a backup for whatever reason it would be extremely annoying though.
weirdly bringing time.is from Run Button to Friends at the Table, then having Austin bring it to all the shows he's been on, is sort of Run Button's main influence on the world.
