#NBA2K

Sometimes I'll randomly look up NBA 2Kbstuff and stumble into a reddit thread. The most recent one, a few days ago was "Why is MyPlayer's morale listed as Outraged??". They then list that they're like, a starter, all NBA, and won the Finals in their first season, so theyre confused.

My immediate guess is that the player thinks they're underpaid, because someone performing like that and getting basically pennies what they're worth is No Good. Plus I doubt My player, your created career mode player, uses a different morale system than the other modes because I don't foresee 2K doing that.

It's great if I'm right. They basically modeled how everyone feels at their job. Go above and beyond and get fuckin nothing for it. At least in the NBA you're guaranteed a raise and winning certain awards can make your max salary larger.

NBA2K22 just softlocked me during the MyCareer mode (PS4, so I get the lesser experience anyways, since career mode on PS4/XB1/PC is way cut down compared to PS5/XSX).

Last night, a training drill broke because one NPC didn't load, so the other one, holding a ball, couldn't pass it to me for me to take my next shot, so I was stuck and had to quit out.

Today, I got a softlock trying to access one of the game's made game modes from the My Career mode. It was supposed to load and play a video to explain the mode, but instead it's loading the like "no texture" pink box instead where the screen is, I can't move, and can't pull up any in game menus.

Hypothesis: The video probably rotates with new information as the MyTeam (The Microtransaction Game Mode), but because 2k22 is not the newest version anymore, they pulled the video. The game is trying to load a video that isn't there,s o it's stuck in a loop.

Reason for this thought: If you try to access MyCareer or several game modes in older editions of 2K, such as 2K19 or 2K21, things just Don't Work because the servers are shut off. Since the servers are off, no cutscenes can load, and career mode is even more barebones than the PC/PS4/XB1 versions. The probable reason is: They need to tie their currency, VC into everything. The currency used for cosmetic changes is ALSO the same currency used for player improvement. If they aren't making money in a game anymore, server goes off, and all features that use VC are cut off. Games become less and less playable as time goes on.
