#Phoe Squeaks
gosh me getting into fountain pens (and the general area of "pens, pencils, various supplies, etc.") really like, fits my weird nature of constantly wanting to write and draw and craft and stuff, and it's incredibly fun to work with them like i legitimately really enjoy the versatility and how modular it is, but HOUGH just browsing websites and it's like "want that, want that, want that, want that, oh that's some really pretty ink, i'd like that, want that, want that" and me telling myself "no, not right now. i will let you buy the carrying case and those scissors and that multi-pen next pay check, but for now you've already bought stuff, please, restrain yourself." and it's just like. "fine, okay... but what if i bought them now though instead?" and it's the eternal struggle, really. that being said, i'll be really easy to shop for when it comes to birthdays and holidays. just point family member at SITE and say "go wild. literally anything, pretty much." gjdfklgjsdklg
feeling particularly sheep tonight :) sheePhoe if you will :)
also feeling particularly "i should do a draw" tbh. i need to get back in that habit and i've been really meaning to play around with some stuff like style and like, being comfortable just doing sketches and half-finished stuff. drawing brings us a lot of joy, but gods it's probably been about half a year since we've even doodled in a notebook, so we've been Away For A Bit. To be fair we've been getting medicated and like, writing for the ttrpg we're running, but we wanna get back into the drawing zone. i think we'll try to do that tomorrow, even if it is literally just us shaking off the rust and putting down lines and curves and squiggles as practice. maybe also try to pick apart a few techniques other artists do, we've been meaning to study a specific effect we've seen that we really like and we think we know how it's achieved (it looks very soft and almost squishy. We figure it's probably a soft round brush, some careful pen pressure, the soft eraser, and maybe a bit of blur/smudging to add some light coloring... but we're not certain! that's why we need to practice and study!)
