The body count rises as we find out just how stuck in the middle Lamb's people are and how far the alt-right rot goes. The beginning of this episode had me a bit confused, but I caught up quickly enough. Gary Oldman is a lot of fun in this series! He may be my favorite part of the entire show so far.

What seemed like an episode dedicated to fleshing out the characters for future purposes delivers a gut punch in the end. On the one hand, it raises the stakes in a shocking unexpected way. On the other hand, it means losing one of my early favorite characters. With the season only having six episodes, it makes sense to have something big happen to lead into the complications of the plot.

I was torn between just reading the books or watching this adaptation, and based on time, the adaptation won out (for now). Seems like a pretty solid beginning. I know the seasons are short, so it will be interesting to see how complicated things get in this first season. But it's nice to know that there is another season already aired and two more on the way, so plenty of time to catch up!

Decided with the start of the second season to give a second shot to Slow Horses... only got a couple episodes in originally, and stopped. I remember why. The idea that MI5 would side with liberalism against far right nationalists is liberalism run amok and I HATE that phrase.
