i think a lot about The Buggles' debut album The Age of Plastic (1980) because i think that if you set out to make an album of pop music the least you can do is make it a grandiose theme album about alienation and mass manufacturing and the horrific march of technology and its consequences. and the only song most people know from it is Video Killed The Radio Star which is a banger in its own right but also kind of funny, given, you know, the rest of the album
