this year felt like less of an awards show than ever
i just couldnt even deal with watching the whole thing
didnt help that the stream also kept buffering for me, maybe thats a me problem though
10 years of these things
im gonna make it a point to not watch it anymore, just seems like a waste of time for me
i think kojima getting so much time on stage, while the winners had to make super short speeches
and they joke at the start of the show!!! no long speeches this time, Ha Ha
feels weird that the preshow had a stronger lineup of games than the main show in a way
i feel frustrated… at myself

I only caught the Game of The Year: Presented by some Xbox Controller YouTube guy¹ part of the Game Awards. And a MHW thing. Yeah MHW is good, but I kinda liked MHW better, y'know.²

Anyways, yeah that's the game that I would've been the most fine with winning GOTY. It's not like Hi-Fi Rush was up for that.

2. There's a new Monster Hunter game, good luck trying to abbreviate that. As both Monster Hunter World and Wilds could be called MHW

happy to see neil newbon get recognition, and for a wild-ass game like alan wake 2 to have its own awards sweep. bg3 scoring big is no surprise but also like, that's what can happen when your team is able to work for more than four years on a game. when they get this big, i feel like you gotta do more than four, though of course making that possible isn't easy!

i know people like to be down on the game awards or snarky about it but also, like, there's always a bad side to doing an awards show, but also a good side, and i dunno, sometimes i get annoyed by people being negative all the time, even when i get where that's coming from

but also i didn't watch it all the way through, i used a comment with timestamps to skip to every award one by one after it was over. we live in the future baby
