So ever since using Cohost, I've noticed that I find myself hiding likes from my notifications because they just don't matter as much as shares (showing it to other people), replies (adding your own thoughts to a post), comments (the only stat that's actually tracked on the site, plus adding thoughts), and follows (more people get to see your posts in real time).
But then I took it a step further: How many metrics does a social networking system need for it to be a social networking system? I initially thought of it just being likes and comments, with likes and reposts merging into just likes, but... what if that wasn't there, either? Could you design a social network that only uses comments as interaction?
And that's when I decided to think of the SNS concept Chatterbox.
