I've been on here through some of my best times and worst times. It's been all of like two years but it feels like an eternity. I will not go into detail about what has happened because it's personal for those involved. I will say cohost was here for me when I needed something to read during my breaks, my job is currently less than ideal or safe for someone that's queer. Looking at this place I knew I was safe, that I'm not alone, and that creativity still matters on this stupid little rock orbiting a not to intense star in a quiet little piece of a less than extraordinary spiral galaxy. I felt safe here and felt creative, I started writing a comic, I made and published @SiliconeValleyComic and I started doing something I dreamt of since I was a kid. Now I'm moving on to other platforms and will be around the internet a bit, just not as involved and in love with the platform as I was here. I've got a proper sign-off in my drafts and will post it when the day comes. But I feel like I need to write a proper eulogy to my time here. I hope this post gets read at the various celebrations of cohost when the day comes, my fellow chosters are why I kept coming back here, and I want them to hear these words, not from my mouth but from a fellow choster's as that is the essence of a rechost after this place enters read-only. I want these words spoken in Seattle, in Philadelphia, and hopefully in Boston too so that @jkap can hear them. This place meant a lot to us, we are a community first and a userbase second, that much is clear in cohost's final days. I have a "friend of eggbug" patch on the way and I hope one day to cross paths with someone that misses this little corner of the internet too. In a sense this site is that little rock orbiting a not too intense star in a quiet little corner of The Milky Way, a safe place to call home where we could all breathe and experience humanity on the internet again.
