one thing we weren't that great at on this site was protecting the most vulnerable of us, and now that cohost is going down that protection is even more vital. we have to figure this out soon.

i'm also poking around in some of the various cohost discord servers. if you really want to reach me (i am terrible with one on one communication) you can friend me @ malusdraco#8110 on discord
my email- malusdraco.commissions@gmail.com is also a good way of pinning me down

looking into various other sites for my post cohost social media life. i have a bluesky, and my mastodon account just activated. thing is, i've already found a lot of bluesky's twitter-inspired design to be annoying, and since mastodon comes from a similar place, i suspect i'll feel similarly there. which is making me wonder if i should try pillowfort.
here's all i really know about it.
- like cohost, it's a user funder pro nsfw social media site with a more tumblr-inspired design
- unlike cohost, it seems to get enough funding from its users to keep the lights on
- it has at least a few users who for whatever reason loved to root around cohost for drama, stir it up, and post about it over there. if i end up using it, i'll just block these people immediately.
- i haven't seen many people on here saying they'll be using it. there have been a few, but bluesky, mastodon, blogging, and even tumblr all seem to be more common.
i've come to really appreciate cohost's more tumblr-inspired design, but i never wanted to use tumblr myself. nothing against you all - i know there are a lot of you here - but in my mind tumblr was always a fandom oriented site, and i'm just not a fandom person. my favorite thing about cohost is how filled it is with interesting people making funny, inspiring, informative, beautiful Posts, often about things i'd never have thought to take an interest in myself, and that's what i'm looking for most in wherever i go next.
so, if pillowfort is just tumblr but not tumblr, i don't think it'd be for me. but if it's got real Posters, it may be. can anyone share their experience with it?
