Adenoma/Aoi Manto - Split
A short split between goregrind bands, this whole release clocks in at just under five minutes. If you like this type of music, it’s worth snagging, if not…
Eros Rot - Languish in Rapture
I was on the fence the first time I heard Languish in Rapture, but the E.P. has grown on me with each listen. Dissonant and brutal, Eros Rot plays plodding, angular tech death that demands your entire attention. Check it out.
Galvanized - Subjected to the Plague
The debut release from Galvanized, Subjected to the Plague skillfully blends a variety of death metal styles. There are slam portions, blackened segments, osdm elements, and even atmospheric passages with an acoustic guitar. I’m looking forward to hearing more from this band.
Hexecaust - Hexecaust
A one-man project from Belarus, Hexecaust is 40 minutes of killer black metal. Some of the keyboards on the album didn’t really click with me, but it’s a minor complaint. Definitely something black metal fans should be checking out.
Mithrandir - LatlaĂşs
Melodic, fantasy-themed black metal from Finland, Mithrandir crafts an impressive sound on Latlaús by incorporating raw elements, atmospheric sections, and some dungeon synth. If you’re looking for a soundtrack to fighting the uruk-hai at Helm’s Deep, this is it.
Yakisoba/Horornisdiphonevalley - The Shape of Our Death
A cool little international grindcore split here, Italy’s Yakisoba blasts through ten tracks of putrid goregrind and Japan’s Horornisdiphonevalley serves up five songs of odd-ball moog grind. The Shape of Our Death may not be the thing for everyone, but I’m sure enjoying it.
