There is also the Weed reference on the same page, Kinnikuman references out the ass, and I swear I'm forgetting a Saint Seiya reference.
Oh, and Perfect Cell is named, but not shown.

a good mix of marathon and doom. idk how to describe it but the slower pace and lower monster count is what i want to aim for in my project.
ive always felt like doom maps with huge hordes of monsters turn into a slog after a while, cuz it's a novelty the first couple times, but by the 20th map it gets really, really boring (mostly because the gameplay turns into "circle strafe and fire for half an hour")
barista has a really, really low monster count compared to other doom mods: 56, and not all of those are hostiles, there's a handful of friendly npcs that act like marathon's bobs, wandering around and spouting voice lines until they're violently killed by the monsters. they add a bit of flavor to the game and make it feel a bit less lonely.
there's still an overwhelming sense of loneliness in the game because 1: the main purpose of these guys is to die and 2: they don't help the player out in any way. i also think barista deletes the corpses of these guys when you reach the area they died in too, which makes it feel a little weird. also, your only point of contact with any character in the entire game is a series of glitched out text terminals.
the new weapons are ok. nothing to write home about.
i'm not really sure what else to write here so. yeah. check it out, it's free.
a little comic about celiac disease for #DisabilityPrideMonth <3 my diagnosis has changed my life a lot. it makes me feel nuts sometimes but it's worth it for my health. anyway, wear a mask out there
