I recently had a medical crisis in my family and the stress trying to balance everything got so bad that I wound up dissociating. To such an extent that I decided to play the remastered Dragon Quest for the Switch. As such, I felt like penning a little love letter to generic retro fantasy jRPGs. They really did capture something special about the wizards and warriors genre and the spirit of tabletop gaming, and then streamlined it into a single player experience.
