#The Tree & The Tower

An arch cut into the northern wall of room 8/2 leads outside, where thick, rope-like vines provide a curving, climbable route to room 7/30 below. Inside, a pair of sprites lean against a sweet smelling, flower-covered gazebo. The two sprites - one a bundle of leafy twigs, the other a hedgehog-like bush - awkwardly wear small helms and fiddle with simple spears. The two shoot-the-shit, bored with their bound task, unless adventurers appear, at which point they nervously snap to attention and debate what they're supposed to do next as guards.

Room 7/31 is dimly lit by magic that also suppresses the light of outside sources, like lanterns and torches, keeping the room in shadows. A giant's full-body mirror stands in an etched circle at the eastern end of the room. The etchings might have once held protective silver, but are now empty. The mirror itself is covered by a cloth that is all too easy to tug off.

Next to the mirror is a tall lectern. Attached to the lectern is a fine, but strong, chain that once connected to a book; the chain's snapped and the book long taken away by the Banshee. On the lectern is a large, silver bell.

If someone stands in-front of the uncovered mirror while the silver bell is rung, their mirror doppelganger steps out. Neither the original adventurer or the doppelganger produce reflections after this. The doppelganger is silent, at least initially. They are intelligent and their own person, who may or may not have the skills of the original. Mirror double is inclined to follow the group around.

If the bell is rung again while the mirrored adventurer or the doppelganger are in-front of it, the mirrored adventurer must make a saving throw vs. death. On a success, the doppelganger returns to the mirror and the adventurer casts a reflection in mirrors again. On a failure, the adventurer instead is trapped in the mirror, and the doppelganger casts a reflection now. It is possible the adventurer, so trapped, might be able to travel about the mirror world when not called in-front of a mirror by the doppelganger.

Light filters into room 7/30 through a vine-draped archway built into the northern wall. Peering out reveals thick, rope-like vines climbing the exterior wall of the Tower, leading up to the next floor. Columns decorated in gossamer threads stand in the middle of the room, out of place in a space that once belonged to Giants. A tall skeleton covered in briars and flowers sits in a pile of blooming bushes in the northwest corner. The Corpse Gallant stands and politely confronts anyone passing through the room who isn't undead, fey, or elvish.
