Touge Oni is a real Dudes Rock kinda manga
#Touge Oni
- Manga/Comics
- Still Sick (vol 1-2)
- A himejoshi mangaka gets found out by one of her co-workers, shenanigans ensue! It's cute and goes some interesting places beyond that, dealing with creativity and burnout.
- Senpai, Does It Taste Good?
- "We'll just pretend to date" is one of my favorite dumb tropes. This one is incredibly good, it's got some darkness to it and is pretty spicy. Also deals a lot with food and trauma related to food, as a general cw.
- PTSD Radio (vol 1)
- A series of interconnected horror vignettes, I didn't really mesh with this one very much.
- Black and White: Tough Love At The Office (vol 1)
- Rivals at the office beat the shit out of each other and then kiss about it. Real good stuff.
- Doctor Aphra
- This is a Star Wars comic, for which I feel I must apologize, but but but - it's good and it's gay. Something like "what if Indiana Jones in Star Wars but she's kind of fucked up and also she kisses girls". And then sometimes Luke Skywalker shows up and you have to groan about this motherfucker but, generally good.
- Undead Girl Murder Farce (vol 1-3)
- Have read the three English volumes after enjoying the anime. The manga isn't really quite as good IMO - the art isn't really there and either the writing or at least the translation doesn't have all the wit and charm of the anime. But we do get more sexual tension between Lupin and Eric so who's to say what's better.
- Touge Oni (vol 1)
- Very cool and fun story about meeting ancient gods and dealing with all their weird rules and divine instruments. I'm excited to read more.
- Magic Knight Rayearth (vol 1-3)
- I just wrapped the first half of this, it's real good. Incredibly solid magical girl + mecha story.
- Still Sick (vol 1-2)
- Anime
- Brain Powerd
- Tomino's series right before Turn A, this one is... strange.
- Brain Powerd
- Live Action
- Dimension 20: Mentopolis
- One of Dropout's tabletop seasons, have been enjoying this so far, beloved internet man Hank Green is the big star of it for me.
- Dimension 20: Mentopolis
- Games
- Baldur's Gate 3
- I put a truly irresponsible amount of time into this game over the past couple weeks. It's pretty great, I have a lot of gripes with it but overall have been having a great time with it.
- Vagrant Story
- Started this up, have not actually played a ton of it. I had no idea how complex this game was, basic things like "how much damage does this weapon do" suddenly become complex questions in Vagrant Story. Very cool despite not being very friendly.
- Armored Core 6
- Nearly called it quits on this several times at the chapter 1 boss, who has still been the biggest challenge of the game so far (I'm now at the end of chapter 4). The robots are great, the story is interesting, the characters are actually really fun and charming despite just being brief voices you get between missions. But dang it's sometimes too hard for me, and I don't really feel satisfied clearing a difficult boss so much as "boy I'm glad that shit's over".
- Baldur's Gate 3
