#UFO 50

Have you played UFO 50?? It’s got Vainger. It’s literally got Ninpek. It has Avianos with multiplayer. It’s literally got Campanella. You can probably enjoy Barbuta. Dude it’s got Valbrace. It’s a Velgress original. It’s got Porgy. You can play Porgy. You can go to Porgy and play it. Log onto Porgy right now. Go to Porgy. Dive into Porgy. You can Porgy it. It’s got Porgy. Porgy has it for you. Porgy has it for you.

I actually did try UFO 50, and it's making an above-expectations impression so far. I've played one game that on face value looks just like Little Nemo: The Dream Master but which is actually Uurnog Uurnlimited.

The games do seem good, but… I think the framing story, fake 1980s creation dates, and so on, is kind of misrepresenting them. This is really not trying to rival the Game Center CX games's fidelity to the era's design trends or play experience.

i love stuff like fantasy consoles and that Game Center CX game for the Nintendo DS. UFO 50 is a collection 50 full game experiences of which i've played about a dozen so far. my favorite part of this collection, apart from the sheer amount of whimsy it exudes, is every game feels like it intentionally has some gameplay nuance or trick with the scoring system to discover for yourself. it makes getting good at these games feel rewarding and invites the player to think in a way a lot of NES games no longer do after decades of becoming ubiquitous parts of most players' legacy skill.

here's some screenshots of my favorite games so far, along with short write-ups about each (that i don't recommend reading if you want to be surprised!):

i highly recommend checking UFO 50 out with a friend, either to play the plethora local multiplayer games together, or to try to figure out how each of the games work and share ideas!
