this time, no transphobia. this is a genre now i guess.
#WatchMeForever
So this happened on the AI-generated, Seinfeld-derived, Twitch-streamed, uncurated anti-humor sitcom "Nothing, Forever" aka "WatchMeForever":
AI-generated "comedian" Larry Feinberg takes the polygonal mic and starts one of his rambles. He implies that he is out of ideas, then tries some bland hate speech against trans people with a dash of homophobia on top. It is too poorly stated to hurt.
But no one is laughing, so I’m going to stop. Thanks for coming out tonight. See you next time.
Where’d everybody go?
and at some point the channel gets banned for breaking the Twitch rules, which is correct because the Twitch rules do not have an exception for an AI algorithm that doesn't know what it's saying, and there shouldn't be such an exception.
Honestly I'm not surprised this happened, but I am surprised that it happened in the form of such on-the-nose meta-commentary about the world of standup comedy.
So I stumbled upon a link to a Twitch account that streams a Seinfeld parody (which uses 3D models that look like they came from the PS1 era and chat bots that talk to each other) called WatchMeForever. It's janky and the conversations get as weird as bots chatting with each other can be. Oh, and there's also a microwave that's basically an unspoken star. I was entertained. Until recently.
Why? The chat program used is ChatGPT. Now, that seemed familiar, so I looked it up.
Fuck. Now I remember.
OpenAI owns ChatGPT.
Exclusive: OpenAI Used Kenyan Workers on Less Than $2 Per Hour to Make ChatGPT Less Toxic
Even though Sama doesn't work with OpenAI anymore and (supposedly) isn't subjecting their workers to disturbingly graphic content anymore, that OpenAI had done this left me feeling disgusted still. And the monetary Patreon support that WatchMeForever gets goes to paying OpenAI.
Like I said before: Fuck.
