Pretty short post today- lotta people couldn't make it for one reason or another so it was a small group, and one needed to leave early.
Still, lotta stuff happened here. The portion opens with Moses listening to everyone's problems until his father in law, Jethro, tells him of the magic of delegation. This goes pretty well, and then G-d gives Moses a heads up that when they come to the mountain, if anyone should touch it, they'll surely die, so he should set up a boundary around it lest someone spoil the mood (by dying). G-d then descends in fire and smoke, Moses ascends Sinai, and he receives the Commandments, as well as some other instruction1.
Not too much to say; tonight was mostly reading through things and going over a bit of Sforno. Unfortunately, last year there was also a lot we couldn't get into... some day we'll get to dig in.
