i was waiting for the right time to post this song. but i never figured out when that was so i guess the time is now
this is going to blow someone's mind on cohost. someone needs to go wild to this song. give it a listen. maybe you are that someone.

So I had some more playtime with Super Mario RPG, and it's... well, I have some issues.
I mean, it's a good game, but I'm not sure if it's aged gracefully. It hasn't managed to properly sink its hooks into me.
I'm sure it has something to do with the limitations of the time, and the console, but I feel like it doesn't really have the same level of charm as the first two Paper Mario games, or the Mario & Luigi RPG series.
Also I have disliked every single minigame they've forced me to go through. And there are so many of them...
Plus the fact that they sometimes ask for precise platforming when the controls are so bad doesn't feel great. A little bit of coyote time would have gone a long way.
I was so certain I had actually played this game back in the day, but basically none of it feels familiar as I'm playing through the remake. Though I probably shouldn't expect too much of my memory from 20-30 years ago.
I can see how it was amazing at the time. It was the first time they tried something like this, and it's a decent first outing, but it's been outdone by every other Mario RPG since.
I genuinely have no idea whether that's a hot take or not.
